KLEE 2026 – Everything you wanted to Know

 


Preparation for law entrance competitive exams for year 2026 is just starting across Kerala. Students are taking a decision as to whether join for full time course (by taking a year’s academic break), weekend classes (for plus two school goers) or to go for crash course (after plus exams). Through this blog we are giving all the information possible about the exam written by maximum number of students in Kerala, namely KLEE. 

About KLEE

Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE) is the competitive entrance exam for admission to 5-year Integrated LLB and 3-year LLB courses in the four government law colleges within the state. Namely - Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode Ernakulam, Thrissur.  All the Candidates with a good competitive score, secure merit seat to one of these four colleges.    

The exam in itself is conducted by the Controller of Examinations (CE) - the Higher Education Department, Govt of Kerala.  

Probable KLEE Exam Date for 2026

Somewhere between first week to middle of June 2026. Notification for the exam will appear in the CE website two weeks to one month before the due date of exam. 

Answer key publication: Same day.  

Result announcement: Around three weeks after the exam (Probably of June 20th 2026). 

KLEE  2025: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

  • The applicant should have passed 10+2 in any group from a recognized board with minimum of 45% aggregate marks to apply for 5-year integrated LLB program. In the case of SC and ST applicants, the eligibility bar is 40% for the same.

  • The applicant should have passed their graduation exam in any subject from a recognized University of India (UGC approved) with minimum 45% marks to apply for 3-Year LLB program. In the case of SC / ST candidates, the cut off bar is 40% for 3-year LLB. 

Age Limit 

  •  Applicant ideally would have completed 17 years to apply for KLEE  5-Year LLB Program. (CE notification per se does not specify any age limit). 

  • In the case of 3-year LLB program there is no maximum age criteria (So, somebody who has passed graduation 25 years ago can also apply).  

Citizens: 

  • The applicant should be an Indian national mandatorily.    

Domicile: 

  • Only Kerala residents are eligible for Domicile. The Domicile certificate should be produced for this.  

KLEE  2026 Admission Process

 to apply for KLEE 2025

  • Login after creating the username and password

  • Fill up all the details as asked in the website application form.  

  • Submit / upload the necessary documents

  • Make online payment of the specified application fee. 

 

Standard Documents Required for KLEE 2026

(any additional documents if required will be specified in the CE website notification).

  • High Secondary School Mark list (In the case of 5-year integrated LLB) 

  • Graduation Mark list (In the case of 3-year LLB) 

  • ID Proof 

  • Category Certificate, economically weaker section certificate, Domicile certificate (if claiming for any form of reservation) 

  • Passport size Photograph  

(any additional documents if required will be specified in the CE website notification).

Exam Mode

The exam conducted is a Computer Based Test (CBT). It is advised that students take practice in online mode answering so that last minute confusions are avoided.

120 (as of KLEE 2025 pattern) 

Marking pattern Scheme

3 marks for every correct answer, minus 1 mark for every wrong answer, 

no marks for a not attempted question.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs


Kerala 2026: Question distribution pattern (based on 2025, 2024 Question paper)

The KLEE exam syllabus is as follows:

Legal Aptitude section: 40 Q’s 

General English: 36 Q’s 

Mental ability: 15 Q’s 

General Knowledge & Current Affairs: 28 Q’s 


The above distribution pattern can change as per discretion of CE. The same will be accordingly notified. 

Post exam

Once result is announced (typically, as early mentioned, about three weeks after the exams), the allotment process starts maximum within a month of result announcement. It can come earlier also. 

The successful applicants can select the govt law college of their choice if they have good score. Else allotment will be given according to ranking. 

The admission process in all the four colleges start within two to three weeks of allotment completion.
